Station 10 interim remodel is complete and bids are out for the perm en ant building improvements. Station 10 is located in the South West area of Santa Rosa off Corporate Center Parkway.
Engine 5 to be staffed by one paramedic this spring, making 8 of the 9 Engine Co.'s in the City staffed with paramedics.
Property for Station 11 in the Mendocino Ave/Lewis Rd area has been purchased and plans are underway for placing temporary buildings on the property located so that the Station can be staffed before the end 2007.
Plans to open and relocate other stations is also ongoing and part of the implementation of Measure O. Station 5 to be relocated to the top of Fountaingrove Parkway off New Gate Rd.
The department is also in the middle of an ongoing recruitment process for new firefighters to fill vacancies due to retirements.
Staffing levels have been increased to provide for 1 extra Firefighter, Engineer and Captain on each of the 3 shifts to help fill short term vacancies.
